Megan Buschjost DO

Dr. Megan Buschjost is a board-eligible psychiatrist who joined Kansas City Psychiatric Group in July 2026. She treats a broad range of psychiatric conditions in patients aged 18 and older, including depressive disorders, bipolar spectrum disorders, anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and schizophrenia spectrum disorders.

Dr. Buschjost has a particular interest in treating women’s mental health conditions, especially premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) and mental health concerns affecting pregnancy, the postpartum period and perimenopause. She understands that hormonal and reproductive transitions throughout the lifespan are an important factor affecting overall mental well-being.

Her clinical approach is grounded in careful assessment and the development of thoughtful, measured and personalized treatment plans. Dr. Buschjost recognizes that psychiatric symptoms often change over time and that effective treatment requires ongoing evaluation and adjustment as a patient’s needs and circumstances evolve.

Dr. Buschjost completed her undergraduate studies at Missouri State University before returning to Kansas City where she earned her medical degree from Kansas City University. She then completed her psychiatry residency training at the University of Kansas Medical Center. She is proud to be serving the Kansas City community and providing psychiatric care in her hometown.

What matters most to Dr. Buschjost
“I strive to collaborate with patients to create individualized treatment plans and to provide empathetic care by creating an environment where patients feel heard, understood and empowered on their path to wellness.”
