
Dr. Garrett Lambert is a board-certified psychiatrist who joined Kansas City Psychiatric Group in 2018. He provides psychiatric care to adults ages 18 and older and is known for his thorough, thoughtful approach to evaluation and treatment. Dr. Lambert takes time to understand each patient’s symptoms, personal history, current circumstances and treatment goals. He asks detailed questions and carefully considers the full clinical picture before making diagnostic or treatment recommendations.
Dr. Lambert approaches psychiatric care with curiosity and attention to detail. He recognizes that many mental health concerns are influenced by multiple factors and that a careful evaluation is essential to understanding what may be contributing to a patient’s symptoms. His methodical approach allows him to explore concerns in depth, clarify complex or overlapping symptoms, and develop treatment recommendations based on each patient’s individual needs and circumstances.
Dr. Lambert treats adults with a wide range of psychiatric conditions, including depression and other mood disorders, anxiety disorders, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and schizophrenia spectrum disorders. He works to help patients better understand their symptoms and treatment options while establishing a clear, practical path forward.
Before pursuing medicine, Dr. Lambert practiced law and brings a distinctive professional background to his work in psychiatry. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri–Columbia before receiving his law degree from Saint Louis University School of Law. He practiced civil litigation in Kansas City for several years before returning to the University of Missouri to earn his medical degree. Dr. Lambert completed his psychiatry residency training at the University of Missouri and then joined Kansas City Psychiatric Group in order to begin establishing his goal of a long-term private practice.
